Polished plaster in Surrey

Traditional polished plaster is built from slaked lime and finely ground marble. Each coat is laid thin, allowed to set and then compressed with the trowel. The compression closes the surface, which is what produces the reflective depth and the cool, hard feel under your hand.

Because the colour is mixed into the material rather than painted onto it, the tone moves as the light moves across the wall through the day. That movement is the reason a polished wall never looks flat the way a painted one does.

Polished plaster suits rooms where you want depth without pattern: living room chimney breasts, hallway returns, dining rooms, dressing rooms, media walls and stairwell voids where the height shows off the movement in the material.

In bathrooms and wet rooms the finish is built up and sealed so it can take splashing and steam, which is why it is now a common alternative to large-format tile in Surrey renovations.

Consultation on site, sample panels mixed for your room, a written proposal with the programme and cost, then application by the same hands that made the samples. We protect, prepare and make good, and we leave the room clean.
