Venetian plaster is the original polished lime finish: slaked lime, marble dust and pigment, laid in thin coats and burnished until the surface reflects light like cut stone. It has been used on Italian interiors for centuries and it behaves the same way on a Surrey wall today.
KyroAtelier applies Venetian plaster by hand from a Surrey studio, covering the county and the surrounding areas of London, Hampshire, Berkshire, West Sussex and Middlesex.
Marmorino, Marmorino Fine and high polish
Venetian plaster is not one look. The same materials produce a soft, mineral matt when left uncompressed, a satin burnish when worked lightly, and a mirror-deep polish when compressed hard over several passes.
We agree the level of sheen at sample stage. It changes the character of a room completely: matt reads as quiet stone, high polish reads as marble.

- Waxed and sealed variants for bathrooms and wet areas
Why it lasts
Lime carbonates as it cures, meaning the wall hardens over time rather than degrading. There is no film to peel, blister or flake, and the finish is naturally alkaline, which resists mould.
Day to day it needs nothing more than a soft dry cloth. Sealed and waxed areas can be wiped with a damp cloth, and full aftercare guidance is provided at handover.
Where we work
The studio is based in Surrey, so most commissions are within a short drive of the workshop. We work throughout the county and across the surrounding areas of London, Hampshire, Berkshire and West Sussex.
Recent Surrey work includes a silver marble effect feature wall and reflective hallway for a private residence in Guildford, completed in July 2026.
